| Bio: | My name is Catherine or Cat for short. I am thirty two years old. I grew up in Montgomery County Maryland and I spent the past several years living in New Orleans, La. I moved back to Maryland in August, two weeks before Katrina hit. I plan to move to New York City eventually. I am an aspiring author of sci-fi/fantasy fiction, and am currently editing my first novel. When I am done I will work on finding and agent and publisher. I have begun work on my second novel as well. I have had a couple of short stories published in small publications.
I enjoy doing research on topics such as, history (whatever place or time period I am into at the moment, usually whatever I need to research for my writing), medical science (I have spent the past few years working on healing myself and so have been reading about respiratory problems, heart health, chemical imbalance, allergies and other health issues) and mythology. I am inspired more by mythology than I am by sci-fi/fantasy fiction, as far as my writing goes. I don't read much fiction.
I am a very spiritual person, but not religious. I am an eclectic because I feel I will learn more and grow more if I am open to recieving information from many different paths as opposed to swearing myself to one path or church, etc. I go where the spirit moves me. When I recieve information from spritual books or teachers, I take what works for me and I leave the rest. I am very open-minded. I am also very good at agreeing to disagree with friends and as a reward for this I have a wide variety of people in my life. They might not get along with eachother if they all met, lol, but I am proud of my ability for diversity.
I love music, jazz, swing, afro cuban, classical, show tunes, dark wave, some metal, some hip hop, classic rock, eighties wave, sixties and seventies soul, and soul in general. I may be forgetting some things as I am into so many different genres of music. I love movies as well, and here again, a wide variety, sci-fi/fantasy, horror, musicals, comedies, action, etc. When I can, I enjoy going to museums, art exhibitions, the theatre, and concerts. Once a week, I get together with friends and we paint pottery like a bunch of old ladies. lol I think that about covers it for my bio right now. If I think of something else, I'll add it later. |
